Girls in Engineering programming returns to help build a new generation of engineers and technologists

The popular and long-running UC Santa Cruz Girls in Engineering (GIE) program returned this summer after a two-year pandemic hiatus. The five-day camp introduces middle school girls from Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties to the fields of engineering and technology and helps bridge the gender gap in STEM education. For many participants, this camp is their first exposure to engineering.
