Reminders:
- Girls in Engineering (GIE) is a free program for Santa Cruz and Monterey County students, taking place on UCSC’s campus on Week 1 and Week 2. Week 3 will take place in King City and is specifically for South Monterey County students.
- There is no application fee and bus transportation will be provided from nearby cities, with stops in between if necessary.
- The bus schedule and stop locations will be decided once the application closes, and we will notify you.
- You must currently be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade, and reside in either Santa Cruz or Monterey County.
- Girls in Engineering is open to all eligible students consistent with state and federal law, and the UC Nondiscrimination Statement.

Activities and Interests
Please list up to three activities that you are part of, and briefly describe your participation in each activity. You may include formal (e.g. science fairs, clubs) and informal activities (e.g. special project, volunteer).
Statement of Interest
What excites you about computers, technology, and engineering? Why would you want to spend a week this summer studying computer science and engineering? Write one complete paragraph (maximum 150 words).
